National anthem of Scotland A number of songs are used as Scottish anthems, most notably Scotland the Brave, Flower of Scotland, and Scots Wha Hae [skάts hwάːhéi]. 1314년 베넉번 전투 승리를 기념한 '스코틀랜드의 꽃( Flower of Scotland)'과  베넉번 전투 당시 군가였던 'Scots Wha Hae.(스콭츠 후 해브)',  백파이프 연주가 특징인 스코틀랜드 민요 '스코틀랜드의 용사(Scotland the Brave)' 등은  스코틀랜드 국가(Scottish Anthem)로 불려지는 노래들이다. In 2004, lawyers for the devolved Scottish Parliament advised that it was within the legal competence of the Scottish Parliament to choose a national anthem for Scotland, countering the suggestion that it would be a matter reserved to the Parliament of  the United Kingdom. 2004년, 스코틀랜드 의회의 법률단은 스코틀랜드 국가(國歌) 선정 문제는 U.K 의회의 전권에 속하는 사안이라는 의견에 반대하면서  스코틀랜드 의회의 법적 권한에 속한다고 개진 [開陳]하였다. This ruling prompted some interest in the idea, and a petition to the Scottish Parliament's petitions committee supported by the Scottish Green Party was referred without recommendation to the Scottish Executive, but they decided to take no action, considering the issue not to be a political priority. Prickles occur all over the plant – on the stem and flat parts of leaves. They are an adaptation that protects the plant from being eaten by herbivores. The thistle is the national flower of Scotland  스코틀랜드의 국화는 엉겅퀴 꽃 (Thistle,ㅅ디슬)입니다. 가시잎의 이 꽃은 다양한 예술작품과 장식품에 그려지고 국화로 지정되어 많은 이들의 사랑을 받게 된 데에는 하나의 전설이 있습니다.   옛날에 스코틀랜드가 노르만의 침략을 받았을 때 야습을 준비하던 적군이 신발을 벗고 마지막 남은 스코틀랜드의 성을 향해 이동하면서 한 병사가 엉겅퀴(Thistle)를 밟아 가시에 찔려 아픈 나머지 비명을 질렀고  적의 공격을 알아챈 스코틀랜드인들은 무사히 적들을 물리쳤다는 전설~  티슬은 나라를 구한 꽃으로 사랑받게 된 것~.  스코틀랜드에서 불리는 비공식 국가도 엉겅퀴 꽃 노래입니다.  Flower of Scotland 1965년에 포크 가수이며 작곡가인 로이 윌리엄슨(Roy Williamson,1936~1990)이 작사.작곡하였다. 원래는 로이 윌리엄슨과 로니 브라운(1937~)의 2인조 듀엣인 코리스(The Corries)가 부른 대중가요였다.  스코틀랜드인들의 용맹한 기상과 함께, 스코틀랜드 민족주의적 배경에서  스코틀랜드의 분리 독립을 노래하는 점 때문에 1974년  럭비 선수권 대회에 참가한 스코틀랜드 대표팀이 부르기 시작하면서 스포츠 행사에서 응원가로 널리 불리게 되었다.  1990년에 스코틀랜드 럭비 대표팀이 5개국 선수권 대회 결승에서  최대 라이벌인 잉글랜드를 13-7로 이기고 우승을 차지할 때 국가로 부르면서 인기가 폭발하였다.  1997년에는 축구 대표팀도 국가로 채택하였고 2010년 이후 Commonwealth Games 에서스코틀랜드의 승전가로 사용되면서 현재  이 곡은 기존의 <Scotland the Brave>를 대체하여 국가로 불리고 있다.
