Today, the Royal Air Force had the honour to participate in a special tri-Service flypast over Buckingham Palace celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s.
The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
A flypast is a ceremonial or honorific flight by a group of aircraft or a single aircraft. The term flypast is used in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. In the United States, the terms flyover and flyby are used.
Nation is preparing to go all-out with their celebrations

My favourite formation was a Voyager painted in a United Kingdom livery and four RAF Marham-based F-35B Lightnings off its wings.

70 aircraft took part in the aerial formation from the Royal Air Force (RAF), Royal Navy and British Army. These were are Wildcat HMA Mk2 from RNAS Yeovilton lead the formation followed by two Merlin Mk4s of RNAS Culdrose. Three Puma HC2s from RAF Benson were next, with three RAF Odiham-based Chinooks rounding of the rotary contingent of the flypast.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) were followed and is led by the Avro Lancaster, two Spitfires and a pair of Hurricanes.

A Phenom T1 from RAF Cranwell was next closely behind with a quartet of RAF Valley-based Texan T1s on its wings.

A set of three RAF Brize Norton-based C-130J Hercules , followed by an A400M Atlas and a C-17 Globemaster III.

RAF Lossiemouth-based Poseidon MRA1, followed by a RC-135W Rivet Joint from RAF Waddington.

A Brize Norton-based Voyager follows with a Typhoon FGR.Mk 4 off its port wing and a F-35B Lightning positioned off its starboard side. The former is based at RAF Coningsby, while the latter is from RAF Marham.

Four Hawk T2s from RAF Valley followed from behind.

A large formation of 15 Typhoon FGR.Mk 4s from RAF Lossiemouth and Coningsby marked the penultimate component of the flypast.

Fittingly, nine RAF Scampton-based Red Arrows Hawk T1s with red, white and blue smoke will round off the display
