La Novia는

1961년도 아르헨티나 영화인 La Novia라는 동명 흑백영화에서 주연을 맡았던 칠레출신 Antonio Prieto가 직접 영화 마지막 장면에서 스페니쉬로 부르는 노래가 오리지널 송인데, 같은 해 Tony Dallara가 이태리어로 다시 부른 뒤 일본을 거쳐 우리나라에 알려져 크게 유행한 노래이다.

 

제1회 산레모 가요제(1960년)에서 'Romantica'란 곡으로 우승한 바 있는 이태리의 유명 칸소네 남성가수 토니 달라라(Tony Dallara)의 1961년 히트곡이다.
원곡은 남미의 호아킨 프리에트가 작곡한 것이다.
가사의 내용은 사랑하는 여인의 결혼 모습을 지켜보며 슬픔에 젖어 있는 한 남자의 아픈 마음을 표현하고 있다.

 

영어 버전으로는 1964년 Anita Bryant가 The Bride, 혹은 The Wedding이라는 제목으로 발표했고 뒤를 이어 Connie Francis, Julie Rogers 등 여러 가수들이 불러 전세계적인 히트곡이 되었다.

 

원래 영화 속에서 부른 노래나 이태리어로 된 노래가사는 사랑하는 사람을 떠나보내는 남자의 마음을 아베마리아를 부르며 행복을 비는 노래인 반면,

 

영어로 개사된 노래 가사는 결혼을 하는 신부가 결혼식에서 아베마리아를 가슴에 새기면서 앞으로 영원한 사랑을 남편에게 약속하는 행복에 겨운 마음을 노래한 것이 다르다.

The Bride (2015 film)

The Bride (Spanish: La novia) is a 2015 Spanish drama film directed by Paula Ortiz. The screenplay is based on Blood Wedding, the 1933 tragedy by Federico García Lorca. It was screened in the Zabaltegi section of the 2015 San Sebastián International Film Festival. It was also named as one of three films that could be chosen as the Spanish submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but it was not selected.

 

 

Based on Bodas de sangre, the famous drama by Federico García Lorca, La Novia tells the story of a love triangle involving two men and a woman. Two lovers, carried away by their passion, defy all moral and social rules; they even challenge their own judgment. On the day of her wedding, the bride and her lover escape on horseback to live their love. Their selfish actions will have devastating consequences.
