The Isle of Man [Manx: Mannin (ˈmanɪn),  also Manx: Ellan Vannin (ˈɛlʲan ˈvanɪnʲ),  also known as Mann (/mæn/) ],

is a self-governing British Crown dependency situated in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland.

 

Isle of Man (맨 섬) =   Mann(맨) = Ellan Vannin [ˈɛlʲən ˈvanɪn] 엘련봐닌 

영국과 아일랜드 사이의  아일랜드해에 있는 섬으로

영국 왕실 자치령이다.

(영국령도 아닌 것이  아일랜드령도 아닌 것이...)

Bee Gees statue is unveiled on Isle of Man,near to where the Gibb brothers were born

비지스 동상이  맨섬,  깁 형제들의 출생지 부근에 세워졌다.

Artist Andy Edwards created the statue, which is inspired by the video for the group's 1977 classic song 'Stayin' Alive'.

조각가  앤디  에드워드가  비지스의  1977년 노래  "살아 남아" 의 영상에서 영감을 받아 제작한 동상.

Ellan Vannin [ˈɛlʲən ˈvanɪn] Isle of Man

 

Ellan Vannin (the Manx-language name of the Isle of Man)

is a poem and song, often referred to as "the alternative Manx national anthem",

the words of which were written by Eliza Craven Green in 1854

and later set to music by someone called either J. Townsend or F. H. Townend (sources vary).

 

엘련 봐닌  시 [詩]는 1854년에 Eliza Craven Green 이 썼는데 후에 J. Townsend(또는 F. H. Townend)라는 사람이 음악에 맞추었다.

 

 

The Bee Gees Version

The Bee Gees recorded a version for Isle of Man charities  in 1997. They also included the song in their world-tour as a show of pride in the place of their birth.

비지스는 1997년, 맨섬의 자선사업을 위해 이 노래를 녹음하였다.그들은 또 그들의 출생지에 대한 자부심의 표시로 세계 공연에서 이 노래를 포함시켰다.

로빈은  2012년 5월 20일 대장암과 폐렴으로 62세에 타계하였다.

 

1997년, 로빈은  고향  맨섬(Isle of Man)에서 행한  자선 기금(Manx charity) 조성 행사에 참석,

맨섬의 어린이집 기금 마련을  위해   '킹 윌리엄 고등학교' 학생들과 이 노래를 취입하였다.

병약한 몸으로 영혼을 불태우며 노래하는 로빈의 모습이 애처롭다.
