Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee, said in a keynote speech at the keynote forum of the Fifth China Tibet Tourism and Culture International Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Fifth Tibet Expo") on the 17th.

On June 6, the keynote forum of the 17th Tibet Expo was held in Lhasa. Yan Jinhai, Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Director of the Organizing Committee of the Fifth Tibet Expo, presided over the forum, and Wang Junzheng delivered a keynote speech.

 

Wang Junzheng said that the open economy is the most dynamic and the open region is the most competitive. Tibet will adhere to internal and external connections, make friends, implement all-round opening up to the outside world, actively integrate into the new development pattern with the domestic circulation as the main body and the domestic and international dual circulation promoting each other, strengthen economic ties with sister provinces, and take the initiative to align with national development strategies such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, so as to better achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefit and win-win results. Take the initiative to participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road", deepen exchanges and cooperation with neighboring countries and regions, and build Tibet into an important channel for opening up to South Asia.

 

 
 

In his speech at the forum, Minister of Natural Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, Batuligi Battereden, mentioned that Mongolia and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China have long been cooperating in the field of religious and cultural tourism. The Mongols had a history of studying religious studies in Lhasa, Mount Wutai and the Thar Monastery in Tibet, a tradition that continues to this day. "Through this exhibition, we will discuss the promotion of friendly and cooperative relations between Mongolia and China, as well as the increase of tourism projects rich in Buddhist history and culture, which will help create many opportunities to increase the flow of tourists from the two countries, carry out joint research, and implement projects and programs."

 

"Although South Korea and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China are far apart, they are culturally inseparable. In the past Goryeo era, Tibetan Buddhism in China became the medium for the introduction of Buddhist culture to the Korean Peninsula, so it has a deep historical relationship with Korea in terms of culture. The head of the South Korean parliamentary delegation, Do Jong-hwan, said that not only that, South Korea and the Tibet Autonomous Region have also continued to carry out human and material exchanges, such as the establishment of sister city relations between the Tibet Autonomous Region and South Gyeongsangnam Province of South Korea, and mutual visits with the Busan City Council. He hoped that through this event, he could further deepen his understanding of Tibet in China and further promote friendly cooperation between South Korea and the Tibet Autonomous Region in various fields, including the cultural field.
