As the nation waits to catch their first glimpse of the new King on TV, they are not the only ones waiting.
The King's throne also awaits his arrival as we gain a first look at where he will sit to be formally proclaimed in front of the council.
Britain is watching the formal proclamation of King Charles III at St James's Palace today - two days after the death of his beloved mother, Britain's longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
Charles automatically became Britain's new monarch on the death of his mother aged 96 at Balmoral Castle on Thursday afternoon, but the Accession Council - a body of advisers that dates back to the time of the Norman kings - is formally announcing his role today, in a ceremony being televised for the first time.

In a historic moment, this is the first time that women have been permitted to attend the meeting of the Accession Council.
As well as being televised live for the first time, this is yet another first in British history.
Now that the first part of the Accession Council's business has been concluded, the UK is awaiting to see its new King in the second part of the gathering.
King Charles III is expected to read a statement to his late mother, which is expected to be similarly emotional to his tribute during his first televised address last night.
Members of the Privy Council are currently moving into the throne room at St James' Palace where they will see Charles.
The UK's Prime Minister Liz Truss was among those who signed the proclamation of Charles as the new King just moments ago.
Just days after arriving into office, she has taken on arguably the greatest challenge of any UK PM in living memory.
Penny Mordaunt only became leader of the council this week - but she has already had to carry out her role as head of the privy council.
She announced the death of the Queen to those gathered for the accession ceremony and that King Charles would be proclaimed.
She then read a series of orders for the publication and organisation of the transfer of power to the King.
This concluded the first part of the counil.
Heir Prince William and Queen Consort Camilla are among those who have formally proclaimed Charles as King Charles III in this morning's ceremony.
They joined Penny Mordaunt and Liz Truss in signing the declaration officially recognising Charles as King.
The Privy Council has heard that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, and that Charles has been proclaimed as King Charles III.
Prince William and Queen Consort Camilla were amongst those in attendance.

David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson were seen talking to one another ahead of the ceremony, while Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was talking to Gordon Brown and Tony Blair.

Floral tributes have been removed from areas surrounding Buckingham Palace to Green Park due to the sheer volume of flowers being left.
Meanwhile crowds have gathered outside Buckingham Palace as the public hopes to catch a glimpse of the King and Queen leaving the palace for the Accession Ceremony.
This morning's ceremony is the first of many official proclamations which will follow over the next few days to formally acknowledge the death of the Queen and accept Charles as the new King.
The event, attended by privy counsellors, is divided into two parts. In the first part, the Privy Council will proclaim the King and formally approve various consequential orders, including the arrangements for the Proclamation, without the King present.
The second part is held by the King of His Majesty's first Privy Council. The King will make his declaration and read and sign an oath to uphold the security of the Church in Scotland and approve orders in the council which facilitate continuity of the Government.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss is arriving at St James Palace ahead of King Charles III's accession ceremony, which is due to get underway at 10am.
Former PM Boris Johnson is also understood to have just arrived.
The Accession ceremony is not just important for Charles himself - but for senior government ministers too.
It is the first time members of the Cabinet will meet with the King - ahead of a personal audience with him later today.
Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are to become the Prince and Princess of Wales, King Charles confirmed last night.
The Prince of Wales is traditionally the title held by the heir to the throne.
Kate will become the first Princess of Wales since Princess Diana's death.
Paddington Bear appears to have paid a visit to one of the tribute sites to Queen Elizabeth II.
The bear has left what appears to be a marmalade sandwich amongst the many flowers, labelled 'For later xxx'.
The Queen was widely celebrated for appearing in a short animation with the much-loved bear at Windsor Castle for her jubilee.
King Charles led tributes to his late mother in his first televised address last night.
In a clearly emotional tribute, he said: 'To my darling Mama, thank you, thank you'.
The royal family has since released footage showing behind the scenes of the important moment for the nation - which shows him tearful and humble in the moments after the address.
Members of the Accession Council have begun arriving at St James' Park ahead of the formal ceremony at 10am.
Those already spotted include the Speaker of the Commons, Former Archbishop Rowan Williams, Archbishop Justin Welby, and politicians such as David Lammy, Ed Miliband, Kemi Badenoch and Penny Mordaunt.
At 10am today, the Accession Council will gather to officially proclaim Charles as King Charles III.
The Council is a body made up of members of the Privy Council, leading politicians and civil servants, and only convenes during the changeover of a monarch.
The Queen Consort and Heir Apparent, Prince William, will both attend as members of the Privy Council - which is made up of around 700 people in total, though not all of these will be present.
Charles will join the meeting partway through before reading a statement about his mother, the Queen, and being formally recognised as ruler.
The ceremony will be televised live.
Already this morning hundreds of people are gathered outside Windsor Castle as they rush to remember the Queen.
Flowers are continuing to pile up outside the gates, with various notes and letters thanking the Queen for her service attached.
People of all ages are paying tribute and a local Rotary Club is giving children free flowers to lay down.
Touching tributes to the late Queen are continuing to pour in from all over the world.
Thousands of people have travelled to royal residences since Thursday to lay flowers, cards and candles in recognition of the Queen's incredible legacy after 70 years of rule.
Tributes left outside Buckingham Palace are being transferred to Green Park by Palace staff.
The Royal Family has released its own guide to mourning the Queen as well as a book of condolence for the public to share their best wishes with the rest of the family.
In a modern twist there are no physical books of condolence sat any of the royals' residences - all tributes will be online.
The Queen passed away late on Thursday evening, meaning that today is the first day of official mourning.
The day of death is traditionally D-Day or D+0, but since the announcement came late in the day - at 6.30pm - plans for the complex arrangements, known as Operation London Bridge, were shifted back a day, meaning today is D+1.
Day 1 will see Charles proclaimed King at St James's Palace before he meets with Liz Truss and her Cabinet and holds his first Privy Council.
MPs will also continue sharing tributes to the late Queen in a rare Saturday sitting of the House of Commons.
