A thug smashed a bottle over a man's head in a terrifying row over dogs on Saturday as tempers soared during the hottest day of the year.

Shocking footage showed a calm evening on the Thames Path in Greenwich descending into chaos as the altercation escalated into a bloody brawl.

The trouble appeared to start when a large dog pounced on a smaller dog that was passing.

As the dogs bark, a man in a red polo shirt holding a bottle, who had been walking beside the woman with the smaller dog, angrily confronts the owner of the larger dog.

Almost immediately, a bald man in a white t-shirt gets between the two. It is not clear if the man in the white t-shirt knows the owner of the larger dog - a woman in a red and white dress who is standing off to the side.

A man has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a 'hit-and-run' incident while riding an e-scooter.

Officers were called to Southborough Lane, Bromley, around 1.20am on Sunday following reports of a collision involving a car and an e-scooter.

The Metropolitan Police attended with members of the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found the teenager, who had been riding the scooter, with serious injuries.

He was taken to a central London hospital where he later died.

The Met said the boy's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers were called to Southborough Lane (pictured, general view), Bromley, around 1.20am on Sunday following reports of a collision involving a car and an e-scooter. A 16-year-old boy, who was riding the e-scooter, was found with serious injuries and later died in hospital

The car, a red Fiat Punto, did not stop at the scene but the vehicle was discovered later on Sunday morning in nearby Southwood Close.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision, causing death by dangerous driving and providing a positive alcohol breath test.

He was taken into custody, where he remains.

Officers are also investigating the disappearance of the e-scooter that was being ridden at the time of the crash, which is believed to have been stolen from the scene.
