Aconcagua in the Principal Cordillera of the Andes mountain range

 

 

아르헨티나의 남쪽과 서쪽은 칠레, 북쪽은 볼리비아와 파라과이, 북동쪽과 동쪽은 브라질과 우루과이에 접한다.

남동쪽에는 4,725km에 이르는 대서양 해안이, 서쪽과 남서쪽에는 안데스 산맥이 경계를 이루고 있다.

 

남쪽 끝에서 북동쪽으로 약 515km 떨어진 곳에 위치한 포클랜드 제도(말비나스 제도)는

아르헨티나가 주권을 주장하고 1982년 잠시 점령했으나 현재 영국의 통치를 받고 있다.

면적은 278만 400㎢, 인구는 4343만 1886명(2015년 현재), 수도는 부에노스 아이레스(Buenos Aires)이다.

 

인구의 97％가 유럽계 백인으로, 이탈리아계 35.5％, 스페인계 28.5% 등이다.

언어는 스페인어를 사용하며, 종교는 가톨릭교 92%, 개신교 2%, 유태교 2% 등이다.

 

Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside of Asia, at 6,960.8 metres (22,837 ft), and the highest point in the Southern Hemisphere.

아콩카과는 아시아외에서 가장 높은  6,960.8 metres 산으로 남반구의 초고정점이다.

 

 

아콩카과[Aconcagua]

Aconcagua (Spanish pronunciation: [akoŋˈkaɣwa]) is a mountain in the Principal Cordillera of the Andes mountain range, in Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is the highest mountain in the Americas, the highest outside Asia, and the highest in both the Southern and the Western Hemispheres with a summit elevation of 6,961 metres (22,838 ft).

 

It lies 112 kilometres (70 miles) northwest of the provincial capital, the city of Mendoza, about five kilometres (three miles) from San Juan Province, and 15 km (9 mi) from Argentina's border with neighbouring Chile.

 

The mountain is one of the so-called Seven Summits of the seven continents.

At 6770 metres high, Mercedario is the 8th highest mountain in the Andes and is located in the San Juan Province, Argentina.

 

The Seven Summits

 

칠대륙 최고봉( Seven Summits)은 각 대륙에서 가장 높은 산을 말한다.

산악인들의 등산 목표로 많이 언급되며, 1980년대 리처드 배스에 의해 처음 언급되었다.
